Bradford J. Kullberg, CLP

Brad Kullberg has extensive experience in intellectual property strategy, management, valuation, monetization, and litigation, and has completed numerous IP-related transactions of many different types. In addition to his broad corporate experience in patent and brand licensing, product development, business development, and corporate strategy, Mr. Kullberg has provided expert transaction and advisory services to clients across a wide range of industries and technologies, including IP transactions involving troubled companies. He has testified in state and federal court proceedings on issues related to damages and industry licensing practices.
Mr. Kullberg has developed and implemented IP monetization strategies designed to generate maximum value while aligning with overall corporate strategy. He has marketed, licensed, purchased, sold, and enforced intellectual property rights, including patent, brand and trademark rights, on a global basis across many different technology areas. Mr. Kullberg has evaluated a large number of patent infringement claims and led negotiations resulting in license agreements, often in the context of litigation by the IP owner. He has managed patent and brand licensing businesses in both the licensor and licensee roles, which included responsibility for new transactions, relationship management, audit, and license compliance.
Prior to joining Capstone Advisory Group, LLC, Mr. Kullberg was Vice President of Patent Transaction Services at yet2.com, Inc., a global IP transaction and advisory services firm, where his work included patent buying for anonymous clients and contingency patent selling on behalf of IP owners. Prior to yet2.com, Mr. Kullberg was Vice President of Corporate Business Development at Polaroid Corporation, where he led all technology and brand licensing activities related to the companys Imaging and Consumer Electronics businesses. These responsibilities included patent portfolio monetization, business leadership for all patent infringement matters, and license administration and compliance. Mr. Kullbergs 30-year career at Polaroid included roles in corporate business development, global marketing strategy, program management, and technical and operational assignments.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Kullberg received a B.S. summa cum laude in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Masters in Business Administration from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is an active member of the Licensing Executives Society and is currently the Boston Chapter Co-Chair. Mr. Kullberg is a Certified Licensing Professional.
