Executive Director Michael Dansky and Managing Director Bradford Kullberg spoke at Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) Brown Bag Lunch Program on April 23.  The program, titled “Why It’s a Big Deal: IP Licensing Becoming Business Headline News,” was broadcast by the BBA via webcast to the West Coast and covered the following topics:

  • The emergence of large strategic patent portfolio acquisitions and their impact on the intellectual property markets
  • Strange bedfellows – competitive collaborations are driving transaction prices for intellectual property
  • Recent trends and developments among the patent “trolls,” including the step up in aggressive licensing by patent holding companies such as Intellectual Ventures


The speakers are active IP advisors in a wide range of transactions including the Nortel and Kodak bankruptcy proceedings, and are able to share some insights about these transactions as well as perspectives from the current licensing, acquisition and litigation marketplace for patents.
