Capstone was retained by Audiovox Electronics Corporation and its counsel to provide an expert opinion on patent licensing practices in the consumer electronics industry in a lawsuit brought against Audiovox by MPEG LA, LLC.  Managing Director Brad Kullberg of Capstone’s intellectual property practice testified at trial in the Suffolk County Supreme Court in Riverhead, NY.   The jury found in favor of Audiovox that it was not responsible for past royalties that MPEG LA claimed it was owed from 2000 to 2006.  Capstone’s expert testimony in support of Audiovox’s position was an important contribution to the company’s successful outcome.  If you would like additional information about this engagement or the scope of Capstone’s IP capabilities, please contact Michael Dansky or Brad Kullberg.
