Ned Kleinschmidt is an Executive Director with Capstone Advisory Group, LLC and is based in the New Jersey office. He specializes in financial and advisory turnaround services. His consulting experience includes strategic planning, business plan analysis, cash management, business viability analysis, financings, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring.

Mr. Kleinschmidt has been instrumental in the restructuring and transfer of ownership of numerous merchant power plants to their secured lender syndicates. These include, Lake Road Generating, LLC, La Paloma Generating, LP, MACH Gen, LLC and other merchant generation plants previously owned by PG&E; NEGT. Mr. Kleinschmidt was also retained as the CEO of Boston Generating, LLC, a portfolio of merchant generation plants in the Boston Area. He has advised the secured lenders of LSP Kendall Energy, LLC on both financial restructuring and fuel and power marketing issues throughout a sale and refinancing process. In addition, Mr. Kleinschmidt has advised numerous other merchant plant lenders in both in-court and out-of-court restructures.
Some of his other restructuring assignments include Sunbeam Corporation (representing the secured lenders), Polaroid Corporation (representing the secured lenders), PG&E; National Energy Group (representing the lenders), a $100 million telecommunications company (representing the company, where he currently sits on its Board of Directors), a $100 million media company (representing the secured lenders), and a $300 million textile company (representing the secured lenders).

He has focused on advising debtors and lender groups in various turnaround situations and bankruptcy matters, including assuming board of director and interim management roles, developing acquisition and integration plans, divestiture analyses, reorganization and cost reduction strategies.
Mr. Kleinschmidt's industry experience includes consumer products, energy, technology, telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, finance, real estate, and various other industries.
Prior to joining Capstone, Mr. Kleinschmidt was a Senior Managing Director in the Policano & Manzo legacy practice of FTI Consulting. Prior to that he held chief financial officer and controllership positions in the manufacturing and real estate industries and was an audit manager with Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Kleinschmidt holds a B.A. in Accounting from Fordham University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Pace University. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and a Certified Public Accountant. He is also a member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, the Turnaround Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is recognized as an expert on restructuring and merchant energy issues and has presented, written and been called upon to provide expert testimony in these areas.
