Mr. Hyland was also a Consulting Manager for Grant Thornton, a Director of Finance and Financial Information Systems for University of Chicago Hospitals, a Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting for MCI Telecommunications, and in audit for Deloitte (formerly Touche Ross & Co.).

Mr. Hyland holds a Masters of Management (MBA) degree in Finance, Marketing, and Hospital and Health Services Management from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), a certification provided through the Turnaround Management Associate (TMA). Mr. Hyland is active in the TMA, a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society. He has authored articles and given speeches on business restructuring and merger and acquisitions.
